Created in London by designer LI GONG in 2017, 8ON8 conveys the designer's interpretation of retro futuristic aesthetics: based on the present, Imagine the world of retro futurism, a unique context that LI GONG has always insisted on. This season, he focused on the ultimate imagination of the futuristic world in the 1970s, and portrayed a new series full of witty humor and thought-provoking through modern methods.
This season was inspired by Woody Allen's 1973 sci-fi comedy movie "Sleeper". This sci-fi film, taken in the 1970s, depicts Woody Allen's crazy imagination of human society two hundred years later: human civilization wrapped in advanced technology is destroyed by machinery, but humans are happy – it is the director's The strong irony of the society at that time. This absurd futurism from Woody's unique witty approach led LI GONG to think about this season: he started from the 1970s sci-fi movie, and brought the retro futurism and iconism presented in the film. The combination of design further advocates and deepens the sedimentary youth culture delivered by 8ON8.

In order to express a unique impression of the futuristic look of the 1970s, LI GONG cites the film's portrayal of human occupations in future cities, such as supermarket salesmen, police, workers, ordinary residents and other daily roles. Their images are subverted. Has a unique identity tag. Inspired by this, LI GONG continues the design of combining high-end fabrics with traditional craftsmanship, transforming them into modern expressions based on the current style of labeling and color matching, while incorporating the hippies of the seventies.
